A SERENE GETAWAY
Hair stylist and Content creator Skylar recently packed her favourite Aventura Swimwear pieces for her trip to Saint John and St. Thomas, two beautiful destinations in the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. The islands consist of tranquil beaches and beckoning blue waters, perfect for sailing and snorkelling. Coral reefs inhabited by a diverse portfolio of marine life populate the oceans. You do not have to venture far from the shoreline to find sea turtles and rays. The expansive coral reefs are home to a kaleidoscope of eclectic fish.
On land, there are many hiking trails across the 5,500-acre national park. The US Virgin Islands are serene and idyllic. Perfect for nature lovers or for a romantic getaway. Skylar spent six days soaking up the sun, lounging at the beach and exploring the islands.

What inspired you to choose the Virgin Islands, and what is your favourite memory from your trip?
“I wanted somewhere beautiful and relaxing that still felt adventurous. My favourite memory was spending the day at Trunk Bay and watching the sunset after dinner overlooking the water”.
At Saint John, the days are relaxed. Quiet, peaceful and slow. White sandy beaches, intimate clothing boutiques, a port full of fishermen and restaurants lining the shores allow travellers to move at their own pace. The ideal holiday destination for someone who is used to being on the move and needs a rest bite and time to appreciate the beauty the world has to offer.
How would you describe the atmosphere and vibe to someone who’s never visited?
“The vibe is laid-back, tropical, and incredibly peaceful. The water is unreal, the scenery is stunning, and everything moves at a slower pace in the best way”.
The islands carry you from day to night. As the sun sets, the island's tone becomes more vibrant. The Virgin Islands also offer fine dining, relaxed evenings and beautiful views. Plenty of opportunities to dress up and enjoy an elevated evening with excellent cocktails.
Are there any locations, bars or activities you loved and would recommend to others visiting?
“Trunk Bay is a must-see. I’d also recommend exploring the local beaches, taking a boat day if possible, and enjoying dinner with an ocean view to really experience the island. For dining, Zozo's in St John was one of my favourite experiences. The food, views, and atmosphere were all amazing and made for a really memorable evening”.
Skylar doesn’t just have an eye for holiday destinations; she also has a curated sense of style. Her outfits are elevated and calculated. Were there any particular Aventura pieces that stood out as your favourites on this trip, and if so, why?
“My favourite piece was the Seraphina set in red. I loved how flattering it was, and the colour looked incredible against the island scenery. It felt comfortable, confident, and was the piece I reached for most throughout the trip. Fit is always my top priority. I look for pieces that feel secure and comfortable while still being flattering, versatile, and made with quality materials. I love that the pieces feel thoughtfully designed. They strike a great balance between fashion-forward and wearable, and the quality really stands out”.
